'Trashed to Treasure' 2018
Jai had a dream where students would serve those that serve, those that are over-looked. Trashed to Treasure was envisioned to connect everyone that has been undermined and considered insignificant. The event was hosted to show how the forgotten are needed, wanted, loved.

hollydeeann“Where is your heart at?” Is not simply a line from one of my favorite Jamie Cullum songs 🎵

So often I feel as though my heart gets lost. In so many different things. From sad stories, happy stories, the newest gadget I want to buy and what’s next for me in life. There are so many things that vying for my heart, it’s nice to take some time and actually ask myself, where is my heart at? 🤔

What are some things you do to keep your heart right? Are you even aware of what’s pulling at your heart? ♥️

'Corazon'
This Piece was originally created with no intent to finish it.
Then the Lord prompted me to complete it. I picked up a brush and color pencils for details in full belief that this heart was meant to be given to someone. While painting I was reminded of my friend who LOVES the anatomical heart.
paoxacosta August 6, 2018 // “the condition of your heart is critical in your walk with the Lord” I read this while looking up what the Bible says about our hearts... it got my thinking about myself - if you know me, you know I’m not a feeler. I don’t process things through my emotions and I always found that to be the most challenging aspect in my walk with Christ. I always try to look at the logical side of things, I constantly try to find a practical explanation and it wasn’t until I was in therapy that I realized this was my downfall. Everything doesn’t always have an explanation, like the choices other people make, how their choices affect us... or on the other hand, His unconditional love, His ways, His mercies... to me, this was a foreign language, I only knew love with conditions or love with pain... I kept trying to give God and others these feelings and experiences that weren’t my own and I learned that the condition of our hearts doesn’t equal emotional burdens... if you give your heart from a genuine place, that is enough for Him... I know sometimes I find myself completely numb to everything and that includes my relationship with God. I thought this was my downfall but I quickly learned that in my heart, I was genuine. I was pure. I knew that I could go on with what I knew rather than what I felt... what I know about God always surpasses what I ‘feel’ about God... this doesn’t belittle feelers, but I learned that my heart is not stone... it just needed some softening, and my brain, my Jesus was the way to do it. My heart reflects the truth that I know. That is where my treasure lies. And to you my friends, He will meet you and your mind and your heart wherever they may be. ❤️ Also huge thanks to @gabysartgallery this was much appreciated and just spoke volumes to what God has been saying to me and what I hope speaks to you! (If you read all of this, I appreciate you)
'Wings Like Eagles'
"
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint."

'White Washed’
This piece. Ultimately, I planned on finishing it- adding eyes, eye brows, lips, hair. But God said otherwise.
At an art show a girl came up to me, eager to have this piece just as it was, unfinished, weathered and tethered- “white washed”. She said that coming to the event, she didn’t plan to buy anything. But when she came across this piece she had to have it. Normally art doesn’t really speak to her, but when it does.. it does. She couldn’t stop looking, admiring it even. She told me of how she could see the areas where I had changed my mind, painting over it as if I could hide my mistakes. She loved it and called it just as it is, “White Washed”.
