Hi, my name is Gaby Bowden! 🤗I am a Lakeland-based artist, art educator, and creative professional. Ever since I could remember art has been my greatest passion. Throughout grade school I begged to be in art classes, sometimes ending up with me sitting in a room full of middle-aged adults with my mom right there next to me – I didn't hesitate one bit. I went on to study business at Southeastern University. I know what you're thinking, business? Yes. Business plays a large role in running my art business successfully, so that's what I did. In 2019 I graduated with my Bachelor's in Management, a minor in Graphic Design, and in 2021 my Master's in Business Administration.
I am inspired by the art of creativity and how it serves a greater purpose than what meets the eye. Being made in the image of God means that we hold many His attributes and characteristics. His kind eyes we use to see the beauty in the world, His loving heart to trust and build relationships. Emotional ties to people, places, and even things that we hold dear. Artistry and creativity – a true form of self-expression. The Bible says that In the beginning, God created (Genesis 1:1). Therefore we too are made to create. Something being an Art Educator has taught me is that colors, lines, shapes, and art itself evoke emotion. Art stirs up our imagination and how we view the world we live in. The world is vibrant – colors of the ocean blend together as waves graze the shore, and lines contrast strikes of lightning and gentle blows of wind through soft blades of grass. Textures give new meaning to phases of water and shapes as new passageways. I'm an observer of the world God made, watching the sky change from warm bronze hues to nightshades of blue at sunset, blossomed sunflowers standing tall towards the sun rays that openly stretch its light towards creation. God shapes every creature, places the indented patterns on the trunks of every tree, and blows His life to fill the lungs of His most precious creation every moment we take a breath. My true artistic style is a reflection of abstract realism, translating the liveliness of "feelings" and emotion to tangible works of art while still maintaining a level of reality. You can also find me on social media painting murals and illustrating portraits of pets, homes, and people. |
